Oh, life.

Hey! I feel like I needed to write a short little post to apologise for the lack of content here recently.
I know, I know, bloggers shouldn't have to apologise for taking time off, but the pressure to continually post and be around is pretty strong.

I also wanted to let you in on the plans I have for the future of Gypsy Flower.

I was sat thinking about my blogging journey last night. All I could think of was how other bloggers who started around the same time as me, 2011-ish, all have incredible amounts of readers/subscribers/followers, what ever you want to call them. I guess you could say I was a little green with envy.
I love blogging with all my heart. It helped me become the person I am now, and changed the direction in which my life was going in 2011. I am on the other hand gutted that I haven't been able to put in 110% all the time. Life just happens, and growing up happens.

Blogging is so so competitive now, and I feel like I'm starting all over again.
I've told myself that I'm going to stop comparing myself to others. I'm going to stop trying to compete with all the new blood, who seem to be climbing to the top quicker than I can get off my sofa; and I'm going to take this chapter a bit easier. It's not really about the growth of my social media anymore, it's about the enjoyment I get from it. Don't get me wrong, a few more readers and people commenting would be amazing, but I guess it's not the be all and end all.
As a 26 year old mum of one, I don't have time to go to events, and post about the latest products on the market, timing never works out right for those kinds of posts. I also can't go off travelling the world, which I would absolutely love to do. I get huge amounts of wanderlust when reading other blogs.

What I can do is write when I can, about what I love; and that is what I shall be doing from now on. It may be beauty, it may be fashion. It may even be a post on my favourite meal of the week. But I really would love those of you who do read Gyspy Flower to enjoy it, and to want to come back again and again to read more.
I would love to be able to focus my content on things that you guys would like to read once in a while too though, so a bit of feedback would be fab. Take a trip to the comments section below and let me know what you like to read about.

I have a few other plans for Gypsy Flower too. I hope to be moving over to wordpress and become self hosted by the end of the year. I've been working on the design these past few weeks, and I guess you could call the little changes around here a sneaky peek. I just didn't gel with the old logo, and felt like I needed to change it asap. The photo in the new banner is one of my own; taken many years ago. It's one that I use in the beginning of my blogging journey, and I feel like it's come full circle now that I have chosen to use it again.
Liam will be working on all of the coding once he gets a break from his own work; which seems to never ever stop. Hence why I've not put a specific date on the move over. I've made mistakes like that before and left myself disappointed.

This little post has turned into a mighty rambly one, but I hope it's filled you all in a little with what's been going on. I thought it would be simple to hop back into the swing of things once I returned from Spain, but it really wasn't that easy. Something didn't fit right, but it does now.
My head is clear, and I know exactly how I want to move forward.

Let's hope it goes as well as I'd like it to.
